ahhh, the joys of parenting! And how funny things are a week later.
My husband and I were shopping and I was wearing Evie in a sling (yay for slings!). Steve took a minute to hear my squeals of distress.
For a second I questioned my own continence… but then quickly re-evaluating the situation I realised that it was in fact my daughter sending wee trickling down my leg.
How do babies side-swipe nappies???
Anyway, we completed the shopping. Steve claimed that the presence of an infant on me would make clear to anyone looking that it wasn’t me responsible for the suspicious looking wet patch. He also took some pleasure in his good timing – he had been the one holding Evie just a few minutes before.
How embarrassment.
Some of our evie lala products are on the move… all packed and ready to go!
New Zealand residents can now find our toys and baby shoes in the rather plush boutique ‘Madame Fancy Pants’.
Thanks to Claire for the interest in our handcrafted products. We hope they go well in a bricks and mortar store!

BabyLegs (available in our wear section) aren’t only useful in winter… they are handy in Spring and Summer too.
BabyLegs:
- are lightweight sun protection
- protect from air-con chill
- protect soft knees from harsh surfaces
- promote independence for potty training
- make sports & dance class fun & funky
We love this very funky product. Very cute and very, very useful!
Here’s Jamie sound asleep in his bassinet (which happens to be Evie’s old bassinet).

My clever mother knitted the leafy blanket. Very cosy.
So, Tarsh has had a teency weency bit of time to do some sewing. The nursery section of the site will have some new inhabitants soon.
Oh, and the evie lala (also designed by Tarsh) height charts are finally back from the printer.?Ǭ† They will be available to buy pronto.
Note to self:
When sewing, do not thread pins in the fabric of your jeans for convenience of not having to reach a pin cushion. Ignoring this advice will cause you to become a pin cushion.
ie. Upon forgetting the presence of the aforementioned pins, you will attempt to take off your jeans at some point. The pins will then become embedded in your leg to a depth of approximately 1/2 an inch. Removal of the pins will feel icky.
Oooops!!

Thanks to Shannon Lamden of Aunty Cookie – a lady of exceptional talent. I’ve loved working with the Aunty Cookie fabrics for these baby shoes. Yay for Australian designers!
Watch out for more Aunty Cookie shoes at evie lala…

Oh, and if you’re considering purchasing some of the evie lala baby shoes as a gift for someone (what a good idea – if I do say so myself) don’t forget to check out our card and gift wrapping service.

Only 7 weeks in and Jamie isn’t looking like a newborn anymore!
He’s modelling his Isi-B Striped T here. Rather suits him I think.
And the progression to baby jeans – way to go, Jamie!
I think that might be a little grin on his face… cheeky boy is probably happy that he’s had so much food.

Beautiful!!!
Thanks to Amy who dropped around these fabulous flowers today.
And thank you for the “so you think you can dance” audition you gave at the door as you handed them over.
I love that they a bit different from the standard bunch of flowers. Excellent choice!
Definite points for your pressie buying abilities.
Evie and I went to Healesville Sanctuary today with our mum’s group.?Ǭ† (Hi to mum’s group!)
It was fantastically sunny and the kids seemed to enjoy it all . As seems to be tradition for a Healesville Sanctuary visit, some of our lunch was stolen by an Ibis. The walk through the Sanctuary was so good – bring on the summer outings!
I’m still loving this new camera, so I can’t resist showing off a couple of my Evie shots from today.

I’ve been busy making lots of things lately (including evie lala tags partly made in the picture).
I must say that I’m rather enjoying the creative side of evie lala. There is something nice about designing and sewing when you’ve had a busy day with a one year old. It’s such a totally different thing to do with your brain!
Oh, but if someone can give me a way of getting the children’s songs out of my head while I sew, that would be lovely!
