evie lala has gone hands free!
With slings becoming increasingly popular, we thought it made sense to add them to our site. And if you’re going to use a sling, why not have a stylish one???
The Peanut Shell is a stylish pouch-style baby sling for hip parents. If you’ve been searching for a convenient, comfortable way to carry and nurture your child – hands free – the Peanut Shell is the perfect sling for you!
Slings are a wonderful way to carry your baby close and still get some things done. It’s also a very comforting way for your baby to snuggle up close to you.
There are no buckles, metal rings or adjustments to be made with the Peanut Shell and the sling can be worn five different ways to carry a baby or a toddler up to 36 lbs.
Have a look in the ‘mums’ section to see our Peanut Shell baby slings.

This is Evie wearing her Bee and Tree T-shirt, enjoying the sunshine in our backyard. Please excuse the lack of mowing the lawn has obviously suffered…
We just got ourselves a new camera, and I’m rather excited by the quality of the photos compared to our old little camera. Funny how you suddenly realised what you were missing out on!
Oh, and I guess I should say that it was my husband who took these photos. Thanks Steve!

Thank you to Kristen Doran for your wonderful design skills. We are enjoying using your beautiful fabric for some of our baby shoes.
We love to use Australian made products and designs, and the quality of these fabrics is really impressing us.
Have a look at the Little Owl shoes, the Molly Bird shoes and the Flower shoes in the footwear section to see what we are doing with Kristen’s fabrics. We’ll be using the fabric for more shoes, so keep an eye out for some more funky looking evie lala baby shoes.

I had to have a giggle the other day after receiving a rather interesting message on our home phone. I missed a call, and the person left a message.
A beautiful young sounding female voice said:
So sorry I missed your call, Honey. I was in the shower. Just call me again.
I had a good laugh and called my husband.
I told him that he should really get his girlfriends to call his mobile.
(I should clarify that it was a wrong number and my husband is very faithful.)
Still laughing about it now…

Here’s a little baby Jamie update for everyone.
He’s a hungry HUNGRY boy, and is gaining weight very quickly. Well done, Jamie!
Tarsh is doing well and thinking of her evie lala creations in those quiet, settled moments.
The Jamie collection of clothing is almost ready for evie lala… check in soon to have a look!

I couldn’t resist taking this photo of some washing on the line – our jeans looking so big next to Evie’s little jeans. My husbands socks are bigger than they are!
For some reason I always find it satisfying looking at her little clothes on the line. Children sure do generate a LOT of washing, but it’s rather cute seeing it hanging up.
Anyway, I guess this is a sort of representation of our family. Strange to think that just over a year ago I was washing little newborn clothes getting ready for Evie’s arrival. Somehow after a baby arrives it’s like they were always there…
There seem to be so many different techniques you can use to settle a little baby. And yet sometimes none of them seem to work!
My favourites with Evie were:
- holding her while I bounced on the fit ball
- rocking her (so much that I would rock when not holding her)
- swaddling her
- singing to her (though I’m not sure my husband liked that one…)
and my most favourite – handing her to her Dad. He was always really good at calming her.
Feel free to list your own baby settling techniques!

Just a taste of what’s to come on evie lala.
This is Jamie with his Dad and in his pram with his isi-B merino bunny rug.
We love, love, LOVE the quality of this blankie. The merino is just lovely – soft, snuggly and a little bit silky. It also comes in soft pink colourings.
Not long now… new isi-B products will be at evie lala soon.

You may have put your sunnies on having seen this pic!
This was my first attempt at a children’s birthday cake. Evie is one!!!
Happy Birthday Evie Laela!
(How can this be? Where did the year go?)
I was going to make a dog cake, as Evie’s been saying ‘woof woof’ when we talk about dogs… but a few days before I made this cake she started saying a very impressive ‘meeeoooooooow’ when asked what the cat says. She is fascinated with our Siberian cat, Wilson.
So, a cat cake was the result! And what better model than the evie lala cat?? Click here to see the original – how did I do?
Hmmm, so the blue is rather blue. It’s like it got brighter after I iced it. I came back 30 mins later and got a shock!
Oh, and the mud cake inside was very popular. Evie’s cousins Cailan and Ethan were particularly pleased with their choice to eat the cat’s head.
Check in again soon or subscribe to our email newsletter to find out about evie lala’s new range.
Isi-B are providing us with some gorgeous summer clothes, as well as beautiful merino bunny rugs and summer weight cardigans with an exquisite quality. All Australian designed and made with Australian made fabrics. We love isi-B!!
evie lala are now making our own baby shoes (with much thanks to the encouragement of Melissa from Tiny Happy). We will regularly have new designs in store.
The evie lala ‘Jamie range’ of clothing is coming – we are very excited to be making our own range of baby t-shirts and other clothes. The t-shirts will be Australian made organic cotton… ooooooh – lovely! Our evie lala designs are unique, funky and oh so stylish.
More nursery products will also be in store soon. We have a very unique height chart designed by Tarsh that will be a gorgeous addition to any child’s room.
Stay tuned… and feel free to add comments and suggestions!
